What is Adobe Photoshop ?
Adobe Photoshop, or simply Photoshop, is a graphics editing program (also known as a DPD, Desktop Publishing Program) developed and published by Adobe Systems. It is the current and primary market leader for commercial bitmap and image manipulation, and is the flagship product of Adobe Systems. It has been described as “an industry standard for graphics professionals” and was one of the early “killer applications” on the PC - wikipedia

Here I’m sharing with you the evolution of Icons from the first version of Photoshop .63 till the current CS4. Hope you enjoy them.

Something common you can notice in the icons is, from .63 to Photoshop 7.0 the idea of icons was to focus the symbol or “eye”. Then, from Photoshop 8.0 known as Creative Suite 1 the art started to change.

Yeha.. but the feather also remained for 2 versions only
then came web 2.0 logo styles. Let’s wait ant watch where it leads

BTW, what is that meant to be in 2002? Is it a side-on view of an eye with a circle around it? :S

I guess its showing something like Eye’s older version now enhanced, with an idea of magnifying glass or glasses? Something like *Better Eyes*

I always thought the feather was way cooler than the text. I was kind of disappointed with the plain icon in CS4, but I’ve grown accustomed to it.

Everybody has its own likings.. Feather was cool for me too, after so much of eye icons. But I just loved the Text icons, cool and decent !
