Well, writing after a long time on this Blog. Sorry, um really busy these days !
Coming back to point, previously I wrote a good post about “5 Reasons I want to close YOUR Blog” from reader’s perspective and that went pretty well. Here I’m back with another 5 Reasons I don’t want to Subscribe to YOUR Blog, from reader’s perspective.
While Blogging, every body needs more and more subscribers and readers. Eventually everyone does this and that and that to gain more and more subscribers. But some lets say new-bloggers don’t exactly know how to gain them or keep the ones who already are because of lack of information or wrong actions they take.
Let’s see what these 5 reasons could be..
1. Your Newsletter’s Subject Line is Boring:
This happens when you send newsletter’s saying like “Learn Blogging – Episode 09″ or “Learn Blogging – Part III”. This actually doesn’t gain any good attention because you don’t really describe what the content is going to be about.. preferred will be a little more explained, just like “Learn Blogging – How to gain Subscribers” maybe?
2. Your RSS Feeds are full of Ads:
Your Feeds contain more Ads then your content. You send newsletter just for the sake of earning and more clicks. Get Lost !
3. Your Content Updates Hardly:
You hardly write any new Post on your Blog or you hardly update anything on your Blog. Subscribing to your blog is just useless when there’s nothing to read about.
4. You Send too much Newsletters:
You always keep on filling my email box with spam emails. Talking rubbish, or paid review emails. My email has no space for crap, I’m sorry I can’t subscribe to Your Blog !
5. I Can’t Find where to Subscribe:
I can’t find any box or banner explaining where to subscribe, there’s just nothing where I can submit my email to subscribe to your Blog. Or maybe, its hardly visible !
Well, these were my views.. I had more to talk about, but I thought to stick to the Fantastic 5 ones. What do you think, why a reader won’t subscribe to any Blog? Good Reasons can get listed !

I totally agree that things like not updating and making it obvious to people how to sign up etc only serves to create barriers. Adding fresh content keeps things new and interesting.

Good points. Some sites barely update and it discourages you from ever visiting again.

lol I totally agree with the writer. Sometimes people provide absolutely nothing and still spam everywhere “subscribe here” etc.
A website should provide good content consistently for it to be subscribe worthy!

I think these are all good points. I do have a question though. Do you think its better to have your full article in the RSS and newsletter or a summary so that the user clicks through to the website? The summary seems logical but I wonder if its easy to lose subscribers that way?
